For twenty-one years, Rochell Weisfogel taught the kindergarten Judaic Studies curriculum in Columbus Torah Academy in Columbus, Ohio, the school of which she is a proud alumna.

She told her original story in her classroom while illustrating it on the chalkboard, every year, before the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashana. It was such a favorite that her students would ask her to "tell it again" as soon as she finished telling it the first time. “Morah Shoshana”—as she is affectionately known to former students and adults, alike, in her community—dreamed of someday publishing her story for the enjoyment of children everywhere.

Rochell is a graduate of Stern College and Ferkauf Graduate School, both divisions of Yeshiva University, where she received her BA in Elementary Education and MS in Jewish Education, respectively. She and her husband, David, are the proud parents of the first Columbus quadruplets, who are now married with children of their own.
