About
Roger E. Pedersen, the resilient author of the Sci-Fi, dystopian SuperPower book series, began his writing journey after facing significant losses, including his job, paramour, house, and car that caught fire. Despite these challenges, Roger’s determination led him to do extensive research and write the first SuperPower book while living in a homeless shelter near New York City.
Roger E. Pedersen is a talented storyteller with a rich background in video game design. Known for his creative approach, Roger has designed several popular games and now brings that same creativity to his writing. His expertise in this field is evident in the SuperPower series, where readers can play three games as they progress through each book. These games involve identifying the referenced movie, book, or music, such as when Apollo Steele, the best man at his twin brother Rocky’s wedding to SuperModel Myrena Gorgona, quotes, ‘Your ‘Pretty Woman’ has become ‘The Runaway Bride.’ Both are Julia Roberts and Richard Gere movies.
His love for storytelling, combined with his experience in game development, allows him to craft narratives that are both imaginative and deeply engaging. “SuperPower: The Ability to Fly or to Become Invisible: The Deal of the Art (Book #1)” is his first venture into the world of literature, where he explores the extraordinary lives of characters with SuperPower abilities. Roger’s passion for storytelling is evident on every page, making his work a must-read for fans of thrilling and thought-provoking fiction.

Tell me how you started writing the SuperPower book series?
In three months, my job moved to Texas from NY City. I was unable to pay my mortgage, I lost my house, then my wife left me, and I watched summer movies, eating lunch in my car, it overheated, and the engine caught on fire. In two months, I read a Forbes cover article, saw the first Shazam film that echoed the same message, and I was interviewed, where they asked me the same question. Not one that believes in coincidences, I researched the topic "If you had one SuperPower, would you choose to fly or to become invisible?" The book series was based on the idea that in book one, people discover they can fly or become invisible. Starting with book two, all SuperPower people have at least two abilities. In the 1990s, I was the world's top computer and video game designer, so all my books have three games in them to optionally play as you read. They are to name a referenced film, book, or music, and at the end of the paperback, there are blank pages to store your notes.

How do you wrote each 400+ [page book?
I hate typing, so I dictate into an app on my cell phone, which types out my chapter as I lie in bed with my eyes closed, picturing a film screen, seeing what I am explaining. Then, I use MS Word to spellcheck the chapter, and I use Grammarly to fix the grammar, especially where to place a comma. I hear the chapter using the READ ALOUD feature to finalize the paperback version, and I write my own HTML code to convert the paperback and create the eBook with Calibre.
