Love Beyond Borders

Jordan Whitler, newly returned home from the American Civil War, is excited to return to the Rocky environs of Colorado that he has spent the last 4 years being able to only dream of, and to the family that he loves more than life itself. Anticipating a time of peace, where he can reconnect with his parents and older sister, and re-engage with those in the community, he comes home only to find that there’s a new battle ahead to face, that nothing could have prepared him for, and one that would threaten the unity of his family as much as the war had threatened the unity of the country he just fought in defense of. Unlike the battle he had just been immersed in though, this was one that was on the home-front and risked that which was closest to his heart and indeed involved matters OF the heart. The country has been ripped apart over the past four years, and now after years of secrecy, a truth will come out that threatens to rip apart the very fabric of his family, and potentially forever change the only dynamic they have ever known. The question facing them all is: will they let it tear them apart or will it make them stronger? Can love truly extend beyond the borders of one’s mind and the hurt that life can bring? Jordan is not only a man who has fought for the soul of his country, but he is one who has to fight for that of his family now as well, so perhaps the last four years was simply preparation for what lies ahead….
