What inspired you to start writing?
I had a near-death experience with cancer. I wrote a memoir about it, and it won an award for I AM CANCER FREE in the Readers' Favorite International annual awards some years later. That spurred me on to write more books.

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka is a fast-paced, ethically layered Caribbean sci-fi thriller that explores the dark possibilities of artificial intelligence, human ambition, and vengeance in a futuristic Caribbean. It is loved by fans of high-concept science fiction, biotech suspense, and readers seeking underrepresented voices in speculative fiction.

How do you create your characters?
As I write, the characters create themselves. They even create their own dialogue. It sounds crazy, but it's the truth.

What does your typical writing day look like?
My days are not hectic. I write during the early part of the day, relax in the afternoons, and late at night, I continue with my writing.

What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
I love my Independence and to retain full control over the publishing process, from writing and editing to marketing and distribution, rather than relying on a traditional publishing house.

What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
Getting enough book sales is not easy if I do not market every day.

Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
Not really.

What advice would you give to new or aspiring indie authors?
Writing is not an easy task.
Try every genre, I did.
Keep writing and don't give up on your dreams.
Join writing groups and help others..
Write for the right reasons.
Write the book you most want to read.
Learn from the best and enjoy the process.
Keep going and do not allow criticism to destroy your dream.

How do you handle book promotion as an indie author?
I pay marketing people.

What’s next for you? Are you working on a new book?
I am always writing a new book and trying other genres.
I will be publishing my 65th book soon.
I write memoirs, science fiction, romance, self-help, mystery thrillers, children’s books, psychological thrillers, Christian books, poetry, poetry anthologies, and magazines.
I also wrote a screenplay for my sci-fi thriller and entered it in a competition.
