What inspired you to start writing?
I started writing to survive. I needed a place to process everything — the chaos, the silence, and the moments in between.
-
Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
It’s a gritty urban mystery with a psychological twist. Think street smarts meets moral dilemmas.
-
How do you create your characters?
I write from the gut. Most of my characters are mashups of real people and imagined consequences. They're flawed, like all of us.
-
What does your typical writing day look like?
I wake up early, hit the gym, then write for 3 hours. After that, I let the characters live in my head the rest of the day.
-
What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
Freedom. Creative freedom, schedule freedom, and the freedom to fail and try again on my terms.
-
What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
Imposter syndrome. Even after a few books, I still hear that little voice. But now I know how to shut it up.
-
Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
I like using Plottr to map out timelines and Scrivener for the actual drafting.
-
What advice would you give to new or aspiring indie authors?
Treat your writing like a job if you want professional results. And don’t skip editing.
