What inspired you to start writing?
I’ve always been drawn to emotions and how people connect. After years of journaling and writing poetry, I decided to try my hand at romance novels—where feelings take center stage.
-
Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest novel, Whispers in the Café, is about two strangers who keep running into each other in a small-town coffee shop. It’s a slow-burn love story wrapped in warmth and second chances.
-
How do you create your characters?
I usually start with a single emotion—like longing or regret—and build the character around it. I want readers to feel like these are real people, with flaws, quirks, and heart.
-
What’s your writing routine like?
I’m a morning writer. Coffee first, then two hours of uninterrupted writing. I leave editing for the evenings when I can be more analytical.
-
Any advice for aspiring romance writers?
Write what makes your heart flutter. Don’t chase trends—chase truth in emotion. That’s what readers remember.
-
How do you handle writer’s block?
I don’t fight it anymore. I go for a walk, watch a rom-com, or read poetry. Inspiration returns when I’m not chasing it.
-
Do your stories draw from real-life experiences?
Absolutely. I often borrow emotions or snippets of conversations I’ve had or overheard. Real life has the best plot twists.
-
How important is setting in your stories?
Very. I treat setting like a character. The cozy cafés, flower shops, or beach towns—they all add emotional texture.
-
What are your favorite romance tropes to write?
I love second chances and slow burns. There’s something beautiful about characters finding their way back to love.
-
Who are your favorite authors?
Emily Henry, Jojo Moyes, and Nicholas Sparks. They write with such heart, and I aspire to create that same emotional resonance.
