What inspired you to start writing?
Books were my escape as a kid. Eventually, I started writing the stories I couldn’t find on the shelf — ones about girls like me.
-
Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
It’s a YA fantasy about reclaiming identity after betrayal. There’s magic, but also a lot of emotional truth.
-
How do you create your characters?
I start with their wounds. What are they hiding? What do they long for? Once I know that, the rest follows.
-
What does your typical writing day look like?
Coffee, playlist, and no phone. I set timers to sprint-write and reward myself with snacks.
-
What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
Meeting readers who say, “This book made me feel seen.” That never gets old.
-
What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
Burnout. Learning to rest without guilt took time.
-
Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
I use Canva for quick book promos and Milanote to organize ideas visually.
