About
I am Dottie Wheeler, and I write to connect. As a memoirist, poet, and dedicated mental health advocate, I pour my most difficult experiences living with borderline personality disorder, also known as BPD, navigating loss, and recovering pain of bullying onto the page.
My mission is deeply personal: I want to break the isolation that often comes with feeling "broken". By sharing my truth, I aim to create a space where you can read my story and recognize pieces of your own.
I believe that vulnerability is our greatest strength, and that our struggles do not define our worth. If my words, whether in a poem, a self-help essay, or a memoir, can help just one person feel seen and understood, then I have done my job. I invite you to read my work and join me in the journey toward healing, one honest story at a time.

What inspired you to start writing?
What inspired me to start writing was this activist Maya Angelou, and her story behind her and how she emerged into a writer and a performer with being a memoirist and a poet

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is on Amazon; self-publishing is called Unbroken Scars; The Phoenix Arisen. The book is a sacred memoir of survival, transformation, and spiritual resilience. Through poetic storytelling and raw truth, I trace the journey from trauma to transcendence, offering readers a path lit by ritual, advocacy, and fierce compassion. These pages honor the scars that remain and the fire that rises from them.
