What inspired you to start writing?
What inspired me to start writing was this activist Maya Angelou, and her story behind her and how she emerged into a writer and a performer with being a memoirist and a poet

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book is on Amazon; self-publishing is called Unbroken Scars; The Phoenix Arisen. The book is a sacred memoir of survival, transformation, and spiritual resilience. Through poetic storytelling and raw truth, I trace the journey from trauma to transcendence, offering readers a path lit by ritual, advocacy, and fierce compassion. These pages honor the scars that remain and the fire that rises from them.

The characters are the universal emotions of honest raw telling truth.

What does your typical writing day look like?
When I am not busy, or when random ideas pop in my head, I jot them down.

What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
What the most rewarding part of being a indie author, is the most amazing feeling of being able to put my truth that people for years tried to dismiss out to the world where they can't dismiss me anymore.

What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
The biggest challenge for me is what I am going to name my book, or how I am going to finance my book when I am from a poor town in West Virginia.

Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
I think I like that app/website Reedsy. It is a good learning tool, that has a free trial that I try to use or the app novel if I run out of the 30-day trial.

What advice would you give to new or aspiring indie authors?
Just try your best, and do not give up when you run into a challenge. You can always do it if you believe in yourself.

How do you handle book promotion as an indie author?
I tell my friends and family, and hope they tell their friends and family and I post it on all my social media platforms.

What’s next for you? Are you working on a new book?
I am trying to work on my next book called The Art Of Your Own Voice, its about speaking up, its your own voice. Be real, be true, be you.
