About
RONALD SCHULZ ran away to New Orleans at 15 to explore the 1960s Counterculture. He lived and loved in communes and radical collectives, stories that are the subjects of his series of wild, unblushing memoirs, along with his saga of hitchhiking across Europe and Africa on a roundabout Buddhist pilgrimage to Nepal. Ronald is a father of two and a grandfather of three, who believes in living life to the fullest, regardless of circumstances. Now living in Seattle, he took advanced writing classes at the University of Washington and Hugo House. His standalone series of books is not for the faint of heart. Read them all; CHICAGO RAGE, HOME AT THE EDGE, PARTY AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW. TEENAGE RUNAWAY 1967 will be out soon, followed by CHASING KARMA, which details life on an organic farming commune in the 1970s.

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
My latest book, Teenage Runaway, takes you back to the raw, rebellious heart of my generation. We were caught between an illegal and immoral war and attempting to build a new, more humane culture we, that is some of us, called Woodstock Nation. This is a real-life memoir of escape, survival, and the unrelenting pull of freedom.

How do you create your characters?
They are real characters, people I describe as best I can, who were part of my experience.
