What inspired you to start writing?
Strangely, I had an extreme allergic reaction to medication, and the need to get my story out was overwhelming. Something I could no longer wait and linger on, year after year.

Can you tell us a little about your latest book?
An historical Western political romance.

How do you create your characters?
I like to research names and places, different times and cultures. What their occupations are and how the characters interact within the world.

What does your typical writing day look like?
I'm a night owl, music playing, cup of tea while the world sleeps I can do my best work, just try not to wake the cat who isn't a night person. She needs her 14 hours.

What has been the most rewarding part of being an indie author?
The freedom to create at my own pace. To be incontrol of my cover design and how I want to present the story in my head/heart to the world.

What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your writing journey?
I had no idea the rules and marketing aspect of writing and publishing. That each genre has limits for word counts and the tiny details.

Do you have any favorite writing tools or apps?
I'm old school, word all the way and I edit as I type. Too many years at a typewriter are ingrained in muscle memory.

What advice would you give to new or aspiring indie authors?
Write how and what you want to read.

How do you handle book promotion as an indie author?
Scream into the void while dropping pamphlets from a helicopter during a level 10 tornado

What’s next for you? Are you working on a new book?
I have about 4 works in progress at all times, bouncing between them. If something new hits me, I'll make a note and move on.
