I had always inspired to write a novel. But never could find the time. After I retired from American Airlines, I suddenly had all the time in the world.

The Abduction Chronicles is a story based on some of my true life events, blended with my vivid imagination. After I wrote my memoirs (The Comeback Kid), I got to thinking "what if my ex-wife was right"? She had always claimed we had been abducted by aliens during our brief marriage. I never believed her. Low and behold, "The Abduction Chronicles" story popped into my head.

I actually have been in love with writing since I could hold a crayon! I remember being 4-years-old and punching holes into the paper and tying them together with red ribbons. My grandmother and mother read to me often, which was the beginning of instilling my love of literature. The power of words has always amazed me, and it's something I have always wanted to share with the world.

My newest book that is currently out in the market is called "Heroes of Gold Country." It is about a family who moves to Montana Territory in the 1860s to hunt for gold. The story centers around young Anna Claire Freiler and her friend Tommy Cooper, who lives in the local saloon. Their friendship tests boundaries and ultimately changes the world around them and their families' lives. There is a lot going on, a lot of action in it. There are outlaws, Road Agents, Vigilantes, dangerous animals, and a juicy rumor about a man who hid gold on a mountain which the children struggle to piece together. The main theme is resilience and the tenacity to explore new dreams, even if there may be unforeseen consequences.

Reading as a kid. I always dreamed of writing the kinds of books that captured my imagination. I was a city boy who grew up on a farm because my dad wanted to experience living in the country. Given that our nearest neighbor was miles away, I was alone much of the time and books were my only real friends.

It's about a former teacher named Paul Schneider who has a checkered past and is accused by a corrupt police detective of kidnapping the little girl he sometimes babysat. Without proof that Schneider has done anything wrong, the local media and his entire neighborhood turn on him. He quickly loses his reputation, but unless he can prove he's innocent, he'll lose much more than that. His freedom and possibly his life. Because there's a killer loose in the community and he'll do anything, including murder, to keep his own past hidden.

I think it began with listening—truly listening—to the stories told around me. My grandfather would spin tales by lamplight, and they always felt more real than the world outside the window. Later, I discovered Celtic mythology and realized that myths weren’t just old—they were alive, still whispering through song, memory, and silence. I started writing because I felt those stories didn’t want to stay forgotten. I wanted to catch what was fading and give it voice again.

My latest book is The Fianna Chronicles: Awakening, the first in an epic fantasy series rooted in Celtic myth and the power of memory. It follows Aisling, a quiet village girl whose life is forever changed when a haunted medallion chooses her as the bearer of an ancient legacy. Alongside three others—each broken in their own way—she becomes part of the rebirth of the Fianna, legendary guardians long thought lost to time. But this isn’t a simple tale of chosen heroes. The medallion whispers. Shadows remember. And not all who walk beside you are what they seem. At its heart, the book is about finding strength in the parts of ourselves we try to bury—and realizing that even forgotten songs still carry power.

My journey into writing was entirely unplanned. With a background in automotive technology, I never envisioned myself as an author. However, after the birth of my daughter, I found myself unexpectedly fired during my maternity leave. To support my family, I took a night shift job, allowing my husband and me to alternate caring for our newborn. In the midst of exhaustion and frustration, I began jotting down dark thoughts about my former boss, imagining elaborate scenarios of revenge that would appear accidental. My father, who was living with us at the time, stumbled upon my musings and suggested they could form the basis of a compelling story. Inspired by his encouragement, I transformed those vengeful ideas into my debut novel, Mechanics of Murder. Since then, I have embraced my newfound passion for writing and dedicated myself to honing my skills. This unexpected turn of events has led me to become an award-winning author, and I have never looked back. What began as a cathartic outlet has blossomed into a fulfilling career that I cherish deeply.

I just finished the fifth and final book in my Order & Chaos series. It is a bittersweet end, saying goodbye to the series I celebrated and cried with the past 6 years. It launched me into the world of being an award-winning author and also the world of being banned on social media.
